【Okinawa Village Time】Passing on Traditions ④ Life of the Mihara Tiguma Association
■ What is Okinawa Village Time? Okinawa Village Time is an experiential activity that allows you to discover the charm of everyday life rooted in the community by connecting with local partners (residents) who live in the Kushi area of Nago City, around Kanucha. ✨ Each local partner offers a variety of unique plans, allowing you to choose an experience that best suits your interests and lifestyle. 🌿 ■ Experience Theme: Passing on Traditions ■ Life of the Mihara Tiguma Association Yuntaku hantaku♪ A lively women’s gathering of craftsmanship In the Kushi area of Nago City, there are people who continue traditional craftsmanship in ways that fit modern life—joyfully and with care. One such group is the Mihara Tiguma Association. The word “tiguma” refers to being skillful with one’s hands. Women from across the Kushi area gather in the Mihara district to enjoy friendly conversations (yuntaku hantaku) while creating traditional folk crafts together. This experience is a trial membership plan that allows you to join an actual gathering of the Mihara Tiguma Association. By becoming a temporary member, you can enjoy the warm, cheerful atmosphere of a women’s get-together—chatting, laughing, and creating crafts side by side. The handmade item you create can be taken home as a souvenir, making this experience a meaningful memory to bring back with you. ■ Plan Details 1.Introduction to the activities of the Mihara Tiguma Association and observation of their crafting process 2.Hands-on craft-making experience using natural materials from the Kushi area(Examples include bangles or small hand brooms) ■ Reservation Flow Request Reservation → Experience Plan Adjustment → Plan Confirmation Please note: As this experience is based on the daily lives of local residents, we may suggest an alternative plan if we are unable to accommodate your request.
